Best Digital Cameras Under $1000: Top 3

Digital cameras are incredibly hard to categorize as ‘best’ or ‘worst’, because the preferences vary a lot from person to person. Still, after a lot of brainstorming, at the risk of getting murdered by some die-hard camera enthusiast, we listed what we found to be the top 3 digital cameras under $1000:

1. Sony DSCRX10/B Cybershot 20.2 MP Digital Still Camera

Quite similar to the Sony DSC-RX100M III in many ways, this 20.2-megapixel camera is as best as it gets if your budget is under 1000 dollars. Note, however, that it is not for those who want absolutely no hassles. That is because it is not a traditional point and shoot, instead, it is a bridge. The upside is, inside a relatively compact package, you get all the manual controls that SLRs have to offer. The quality of images this camera can take is incredible, especially the RAWs. Also, Sony has a knack for creating still cameras that can take great videos, and this one keeps that reputation going. The F2.8 lens is equivalent to having a 24-200mm, and the ISO range is 125 -12800. The Exmor R CMOS sensor makes it a fantastic piece for taking quality stills, Also, the 3-inch tiltable LCD offers 1,228,000 dots. Overall, the finest you can get for the money.

2. Fujifilm X100S 16 MP Digital Camera

With fantastic dynamic range, and an incredibly useful viewfinder, this Fujifilm offers a lot for the price. The APS-C X-TRANS sensor, which is a 16-megapixel, works like a charm when it comes to taking quality pictures in almost all types of situations. The ISO range is 200- 6400, but you can expand that to 12,800 if you desire. We love the 23mm F2 lens for all that it gets done, and the 2.8-inch LCD, having 460,000 dots, does not disappoint. When it comes to design, perhaps it is not the prettiest, but the quality of build is very satisfactory. Also, the speed of the camera is astonishingly good considering the price. We say go for it!

3. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 4K 16X Zoom Digital Camera

We debated a lot between picking this one over the Sony Alpha a6000. If you want a camera that can take great pictures and, at the same time, has well-placed controls and great night photography ability, then you need to give this model a serious look. Externally, no doubt it looks beautiful, but there is more to it than meets the eye. The F2.8 lens is 400mm equivalent, and the 20.1-megapixel sensor is quite a bargain. Great part is, you can capture 4K videos at 30p! There is Wi-fi with NFC and the LCD is 3-inch in size. Compared to its competitors, it is a great camera that can keep anyone engaged for hours at a stretch.
